General Policy
Last updated: August 2026.
1 — Enrollment and payment
Enrollment is confirmed when we receive your application and you receive our written confirmation. A registration fee applies to every on-site enrollment and is never refundable; online courses carry no registration fee.
Payment terms, methods and timing are confirmed with you by email before anything is due. Card payments carry a processing fee; bank transfers avoid it, though your own bank's charges are yours.
Duration discounts apply where the full amount for the booked period is paid at the start. Where payment is made in installments, each installment falls due before the period it covers begins.
Prices are quoted in Moroccan dirhams. Amounts shown in other currencies are indicative and move with the exchange rate; invoices are issued in MAD.
Enrollment is open to anyone aged 18 or over. Students aged 14 to 17 are welcome with written parental consent, and children under 14 attend accompanied by a parent or guardian, who waits at reception during the lesson. Minors are not admitted on trips outside Rabat, and students aged 14 to 17 need a signed parental waiver for outings within Rabat.
2 — Classes and courses
Group classes are capped at eight students. Where a level fills, we open a second section rather than exceed the cap.
Where fewer than three students are enrolled at a level, the teaching day runs three lessons instead of four, at the same price. This is a smaller group receiving closer attention, never a reduction in service, and it is stated before you book.
Placement for Modern Standard Arabic is determined by a written test and a spoken interview; for Moroccan Arabic, a short spoken conversation is enough. If your placement proves wrong in the first days, we will move you at no cost.
We reserve the right to change teachers, timetables and classrooms where operationally necessary, and to combine groups of adjacent levels where numbers require it.
Public holidays falling within a course are taught around and do not extend the course or entitle a refund.
3 — Attendance and certification
Certificates and transcripts require at least 85% attendance. Below that threshold we can issue a record of attendance without certification.
Lessons missed by the student are never refunded, credited or made up.
Assessment, grading and the passing mark are set out on the For Universities page.
4 — Private and online lessons
Minimum booking: ten hours, prepaid in full. Lessons begin once payment is received.
Booked hours are valid for six months from purchase, or twelve months for blocks of sixty hours or more. Where illness, travel or other documented circumstances interrupt your studies, tell us and we will extend.
Rescheduling: tell us at least 24 hours before the lesson, up to two reschedules or modifications per ten-hour pack. With shorter notice, even under 12 hours, we may still accept the change where our schedule allows, though this is a courtesy we cannot promise.
Online lessons are delivered one to one. We do not assemble online groups; students who enroll together are taught as a semi-private group.
5 — Scholarships
Atlas Scholarship awards cover a fixed share of standard program tuition and cannot be combined with any discount, promotion or other award.
Awards apply to the program for which they were granted and are never transferable to another person, session or program. Award holders enroll under these terms like every other student, and the attendance requirements above apply.
Full criteria and deadlines are on the Scholarships page.
6 — Refunds and cancellations: courses
If we cancel, or you are refused a visa: where we do not accept an application, or cancel a course for any reason, all monies paid are refunded in full. Where an official visa refusal is documented, we refund all monies paid less the registration fee.
Before your course starts, refunds are calculated on the notice given. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding Moroccan public holidays.
- 15 business days or more: 100% refund
- 10 to 14 business days: 50% refund
- 5 to 9 business days: 25% refund
- Fewer than 5 business days: the after-start rules below apply
After your course starts, lessons already taken or missed are never refunded. On the remaining tuition:
- Cancelling during the first week: 75% of unused tuition
- Cancelling after the first week: 50% of unused tuition
Course credit instead: rather than a partial refund, you may convert unused tuition into course credit, valid for eighteen months from your original start date. Credit may be transferred once to a person you nominate; it may never be sold or exchanged for cash.
Processing: your termination date is the Friday following your last recorded attendance, triggered either by our receipt of your notice or by termination under section 9. Refunds are paid within thirty calendar days of that date, by the method used for payment. Bank charges on refunds are borne by the student.
7 — Accommodation
Where we are unable to place you in accommodation you have booked, all monies paid for it are refunded in full.
Host family and student accommodation (minimum stay: one week):
- 10 business days or more: 100% refund
- 5 to 9 business days: 70% refund
- 3 to 4 business days: 50% refund
- Fewer than 3 business days: no refund
Studios are reserved individually and committed to on your behalf. Once you have confirmed your studio, with its photos and location seen and approved, the first four weeks are no longer refundable. During your stay, a month begun is a month due, and leaving early takes seven business days' written notice. Studios carry no security deposit.
Once your stay has begun, accommodation already occupied is never refunded. Where you leave early, we refund unused whole weeks less one week's notice.
8 — Trips and excursions
Where we cancel a trip for any reason, all monies paid for it are refunded in full.
- 10 business days or more: 100% refund
- 7 to 9 business days: 50% refund
- 5 to 6 business days: 25% refund
- Fewer than 5 business days: no refund
Trips depend on minimum numbers and on conditions outside our control; where one cannot run, we refund it in full or offer an alternative.
9 — Conduct
We ask for very little: respect for your teachers, your classmates, your hosts and this country's laws and customs. Nearly everyone gives it without being asked.
We may terminate a student's enrollment without refund for behavior that endangers or seriously disrupts others, for harassment or discrimination, for illegal activity, or for repeated disregard of the rules of a host family or accommodation. Termination of this kind is a last resort and is confirmed in writing with reasons.
Students under 18 are welcome. Enrollment for a student under 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian, who provides contact details and consent for participation in activities and excursions; accommodation is arranged accordingly. The full minors clause is being confirmed with specific legal advice and will be published here.
10 — General
Circumstances beyond our control: where events outside our reasonable control, including public emergencies, restrictions on travel, strikes or natural events, prevent us from delivering a course, we will offer online delivery, a transfer to a later session, or course credit. Where none is possible, unused tuition is refunded.
Photographs: we sometimes photograph classes and activities for our website and social media. Tell us if you would rather not appear, at any time, and we will respect it without explanation or awkwardness.
Your data is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Complaints: tell us early and directly; most things are fixed in a conversation the same day. Anything unresolved should be put in writing to the Director, and we will respond within ten working days.
Governing law: these terms are governed by Moroccan law, and the courts of Rabat have jurisdiction.
Changes: we may update this policy; the terms that apply to you are those published when you enrolled. The date of the current version is at the top of this page.
