I felt despondent about my Arabic learning, after 3 years of online lessons in the UK. Encouraged by a friend I signed up for 5 days intensive at Al Minbar. It was transformational! I was nervous but after the first day I was buzzing with renewed motivation and confidence. It has encouraged to continue with my online and independent studies in the UK, and as soon as I am able to I plan to return to Al Minbar for more in person lessons! My teacher Yacine was patient and friendly, while also ensuring he challenged us to make progress. The class was small (3 students) so we each got a lot of attention. I would highly recommend Al Minbar to all.

I spent seven weeks studying MSA with Damia at Al Minbar. She's a wonderful teacher; so kind, patient, adaptive and very professional in her response to my language learning needs. I made good progress, especially in growing my spoken Arabic confidence. I actually booked an extra week to continue my studies because Damia made the learning enjoyable and un-stressful.
I especially like the fact that the school is not too big and the atmosphere is convivial and supportive. The school is a welcoming place to study and each student's needs are cared for by Khaoula and Imane (and indeed all the teachers).
The communal daily tea-time offers a chance to mix with everyone in the school (students and teachers) to form friendships, a student WhatsApp group and plans for outings. The regular activities like calligraphy, zellige making, cooking classes and local outings provide further opportunities for information and integration beyond the classroom.
The reports and photos of the weekend trips from other students show that these are enjoyable excursions.
I would very much like to return to Morocco to top up my Arabic learning in the future: I would definitely attend Al Minbar again and would recommend the school to others.

Estuve una semana, del 13 al 17 de mayo de 2024, en el instituto Al Minbar de Rabat recibiendo clases de Darija. Fui el único alumno en mi clase, con lo que tuve a mi profesora Fatiha a mi entera disposición. Sólo tengo palabras de agradecimiento para ella por su paciencia y su destreza a la hora de explicarme y enseñarme palabras, expresiones y fonética, utilizando todo tipo de giros, incluso acudiendo al dibujo. Los dos primeros días fueron un poco complicados por mi bajo nivel, pero los tres últimos los disfruté un montón. Me fui cuando empezaba a divertirme y a aprender más. En cuanto a las instalaciones están correctas, con varias aulas, una sala de espera y varios cuartos de baño. El último día tuvimos incluso una actividad con otros alumnos consistente en hacer y después merendar un dulce típico llamado msemmem (o algo así). Fue una lástima no haberlo hecho antes, pues conocí a unos brasileños encantadores, así como a dos chicas holandesa y colombiana muy simpáticas. La cocinera (cuidaba también de la limpieza del centro) cuya nombre no conozco era muy agradable, siempre con sonrisa y amabilidad.
Me alojé en casa de Nayet y su familia durante mi estancia. Una casa humilde en la Medina, pero una familia encantadora. Lástima que no tuviera más nivel para poder hablar con ellos. Eso sí, engordé seguro, jeje. Lo pasé genial, a pesar de que la casa no es del todo cómoda, pero no me importó, la verdad.
Mis agradecimientos a Nayet y a su familia, a la encantadora Khaoula y a su compañera, a nuestra cocinera de msemmem y, especialmente, a mi profe Fatiha. Un saludo para todas ellas!

I attended a two-week intensive course of MSA at Al Minbar Institute in spring 2024 and I cannot recommend this school enough! It is well-organised institute, with nice premises at the heart of Rabat. The atmosphere at the school is very friendly and you immediately feel like a member of a big family.
The administrative staff (secretariat) is welcoming and very helpful (thank you, Khaoula and Imane!). As for the teaching staff, my teacher was Yassine, an experienced, organised, patient and super-efficient instructor: in two weeks I learned much more than I could have expected! Special thanks to you, Yassine, I am really grateful! (to note here that, from the exchanges I had with students from other classes during the breaks, I got the feeling that they all were happy with their courses!).
In brief, studying at Al Minbar was a great experience! Thank you all again and I am really looking forward to joining one of your courses soon!

La mia esperienza al centro “Al Minbar” è stata molto formativa. Ho seguito un corso intensivo di arabo classico e un corso di darija con insegnanti molto preparati e disponibili. L’ambiente in classe è molto sereno e rilassato e questo permette di fare progressi in maniera naturale. Gli insegnanti stimolano il dialogo e permettono di consolidare ciò che si impara di volta in volta. Si presta attenzione allo sviluppo sia delle competenze orali che di quelle scritte. Mi accorgo che la mia conoscenza e padronanza dell’arabo è migliorata di molto grazie a questa scuola
